I’m still constantly having issues with the app freezing while I’m trying to review my camera recordings. I’ll open to events page, pick a video to play try to fast forward and it freezes for 10 to 30 seconds and then plays. Usually I have around 20 to 50 videos to review daily and often it freezes at least once sometimes even 3 times. It started doing this I think a couple firmware updates ago of the Wyze App, which is now 2.49.2 (2). My iPhone 13 Mini running iOS 17.3.1 isn’t the issue nor is my router. And rebooting my phone doesn’t fix things. No other apps on my phone freeze up. So this is definitely a Wyze software issue.
I’ve heard this issue sometimes reported for Wyze users who have several devices and use iOS.
What my iOS friends have told me is that when you experience this, you can resolve it by uninstalling the app and reinstalling it and it should go back to functioning as normal.
I am not 100% sure what the cause is, or the status on resolving this so it doesn’t happen anymore, I only know that my friends have told me that reinstalling the app usually fixes it, at least for a while.
I believe I tried uninstalling the app before when it first started happening and it didn’t fix things. Maybe that was after another firmware update to the app, I can’t remember. But if it was then that means with each update there will be a freezing issue requiring the app to be uninstalled and reinstalled. The fact that it’s a problem that continues to happen is ridiculous.
I agree it should be a priority issue.
The fact that reinstalling the app often resolves it for many users and that it doesn’t really happen on Android is indicative that it is mostly a problem with the iOS Wyze app design. I do know they had someone looking into it at one point, but I do not have any details on it.
