I’ve got a belated Valentines present for you two. I was able to get some changes made to the mobile forum themes which will reduce the number of taps to get to New.
Using the Wyze Theme on Mobile, if you tap the hamburger menu, then More, you will see a new New link in that list (three taps):
This also works on the Dark & Light Themes and on Desktop.
Alternatively, if you tap the Forum link at the top, there is a New Topics (x) link on that dropdown (two taps):
That only works on the Wyze Theme. However, on the Dark & Light Themes, you can tap the
or 
icon at the top which will immediately take you to the New page (one tap):

I’m not usually a fan of changing defaults but:
Good news: the Light theme has nice fonts and is more information dense than the Wyze theme.
Baddish news: For me, neither the Light nor Dark theme’s Home or Wyze icon leads to New on mobile. It goes to Latest, even if I’ve previously pulled down New.
I have to stress that this is No Big Deal.

The New link is showing for me in the light theme in the new spot (sidebar, more…)

Yes. But that’s the 3 clicker described, not the one-clicker. I can’t believe I’m still talking about this.

Change is scary. 
Honestly, I have no idea why mine goes to New and yours goes to Latest. But unfortunately, I think we’re out of options for customization in this area. I’m glad it’s No Big Deal and glad we could at least make some improvements.
