No, just the firmware on the cameras. This is from one of my cameras which works perfectly well in the app:
My v3 camera stopped working too crazy. How do I fix it?
Please define what you mean by stopped working…too vague to provide any answers.
Too soon to say if it breaks everyone’s cams, it could be related to ISP or could be only people who have gone a long time without updating etc.
The new v.3 cameras I just bought updated to the latest firmware just fine but I don’t know which firmware they started with.
It just bricked one of mine. It was working fine before the forced update.
@WyzeJasonJ @WyzeDesmond @WyzeMatt
Somebody needs to stop the rollout.
Have you tried updating one of the bricked ones (which I believe you said went to the 10 version) to the latest using SD card? I’m thinking 10 may have installed fine but is having issues registering with their servers, where the latest may work fine?
Did you notice which firmware it was trying to go to - seems like if you have an old firmware they may want to do a two step, once to 10 which may not work anymore, then again to the latest. So it may be necessary to SD card update from 10 to the latest (pure speculation at this point).
Not really an option for multiple cameras. The auto update needs to handle it correctly.
Not disagreeing, just giving an idea to try if you want to potentially get it back up and running.
I have multiple V3 cameras that I cannot use because you cannot by-pass the upgrade screen.
Understood. From what has been posted it appears those who have been sticking with old firmware are having issues now, and apparently the big jump in firmware is too much, they probably didn’t test going from really old firmware to the latest.
My guess is they’ve updated the security in the app and/or on their servers, and the camera needs to update to match. But it is forcing a two step update, and the first step which is a firmware from quite a while ago also probably does not support that updated security. They’ll need to try and come up with a way to download both firmwares onto the camera, then have it automate the two upgrades. But in the meantime, manual update may resolve it.
Pardon me but that’s b*****it. The upgrade process should identify the currently installed firmware and act accordingly rather than making a fatal assumption. At a minimum you should be able to stop it and take manual action.
So one of my cameras was on the 10.4054 I tried the OTA update and it updated to 10.7146 then i tried it again and it updated to 11.8391 and then again to 13.0416. It works. So if they already had 4054, then it appears the OTA update works but it needs multiple steps. I wonder if i need to flash 4054 first.
Same here tacomaguy20. I took the plunge (like I had a choice!) & last nite, 1 cam at a time, & I updated all 19 of my V3 cams. I started w the same 10.4054 as you & it took 4 update steps to get up to date to 13.0416. They’re all working just fine, thankfully!!
How do you step through them?
It only gives you the option to update to the next one… you just update again after each update
Android or iOS app?
