For a WEEK NOW Wyze app not working with my android version 9

The Wyze app not working with my android version 9 on 10/26/2020 12:32 am.The tech assistant over phone was completely baffled although we tried several fixes not one brought the wyze app to life. When will I know if there is a resolve to the loss of access to my 5 wyze cams?

What did support have you try?
Make sure that you try:
Deleting and reinstalling the app.
Turning off and on the phone all the way.

Is very vague.

Won’t open?
Can’t log in?

BINGO! But let me TRY to describe just How the wyze app does NOT work since I would like to have a wyze app that works which WOULD really be an lengthy description, but for now let’s stick with “Wyze app not working”.

Wyze is Not Working app is busted and dead links on web site! I can see cameras and video feed through events only, but ALL other features and individual camera info is gone.

and/or VERY similar experience from wyze face book user Ken Simpson:

I noticed that issue, but it cleared up after deleting the app and reinstalling… Was weird, it worked well while connected cellular, but had trouble when on the WiFi network…

Same for mE:
I can log in wyze using mobal data with full use of all of the app’s features; then without leaving the wyze app; turn off mobal data and then turn on wifi and keep the use of all of the app features, but can NOT log on to the Wyze app directly from an initial or beginning solely from a wifi connection!

My phone tech Kala provided for me by wyze suggested I try someone eleses wifi; which I did with the same assumption of “Wyze app not working” with all of the VERY same problems as previously described.

That is just about as good as I can describe and/or clarify the vagueness of “Wyze app not working” so I want to thank you for this opportunity of providing some small part to the research and development of the wyze cam app although I fear it is probably just as inadequate as “Wyze app not working” !
Hope this leads to a patch, fix, idea of some sort that will let me use the wyze app that is crucial to the whole concept of using the Wyze cameras!

Do you think you are speaking with Wyze? You’re not, this is a user forum.
We are Wyze users, like you, that are willing to help if we can.

No need to duplicate your answer for each response. We all see each answer.

To summerize you’ve said the problem seems to be linked to Wifi only. The app works correctly with a mobile data connection only. Let me know if that’s incorrect.

Do you have another device you can try, a tablet msybe?

The app LOADS and works correctly with a mobile data connection ,but
whilst the wyze app is still loaded and I turn off mobile data and
then turn on wifi the wyze app will and does work perfectly well and
as it should until such time that I turn the wyze app off and I have
to redo the mobile to wifi procedure all over again in order to use
the wyze app through my more economical wifi connection.

Two different and VERY patient wyze techs over the phone suggested I
try accessing the wyze app over some other wifi provider (Bulldog
burger restaurant) wifi which I did with the exact same results as
said above.

Oh! I did load the wyze app on my NEXUS 7 2013 only to suffer the same
problems as with the two (wife / mine) android phones.

The wife and me came to this round about method of using the wyze app
with a wifi connection from reading ( wyze Facebook) the VERY
simulator experiences of other people trying to use the wyze app over
their wifi connections, and this has me believing that this is a BUG
or some sort problem that has in fact not been resolved by wyze and
their application developers as apposed just a one off suffered by
some OLD k00k out there in La LA LAND.

Trust me I DO VALUE any and ALL help from those (users or
professionals) that are ready and willing to sort this issue as I and
others perceive it to be and will gladly accept any and all advice as
to how this described issue may or may not be resolved in the near
(hopefully) or distant future!

Again SORRY because try as I may I realize that my lack of
communicative skills leaves a lot to be desired, and I hope this helps
because if wyze cam users FIX this wyze app issue suffered by how ever
a small or large group; then we will have had a hand in the “research
and development of the wyze cam app”.
