Recently I have noticed that if I do not have wifi enabled when I open the Wyze app, it freezes up on the blue “Wyze” screen and never goes any further. This is odd, and it is very new, it never used to happen before. Has anyone else been seeing this?
I was able to reproduce this when I have both wifi and mobile data disabled. I am guessing the app stops because it cannot connect the servers to log in. Is your mobile data disabled also? App 2.10.72 Android 10.
I know some folks confuse airplane mode with turning the WiFi off? Especially on Apple phones. I wonder if they hit that thinking they were just turning WiFi off?
On Apple devices, the Wyze app will still open when both WiFi and Cellular Data (if present) are turned off, and you can use the Wyze app to view your albums of saved photos, 12 sec event clips and playback recordings.
On Android devices, the Wyze app will stop loading at the aqua Wyze banner screen when both WiFi and Mobile Data (if present) are turned off, and you will have to view any saved photos, 12 sec event clips and playback recordings using a different File Manager or Media Player type app.
At least that has been my experience with various iOS/Android/Wyze app versions.
