Floodlight pro actions. Comments requested

The Floodlight Pro is awesome. I have 7!

  • The Field of View is amazing. It’s hard to understand how awesome it is until you try one, but it’s amazing and I expected that a good FOV would require it to be really fish-eye/bubbly and it’s actually pretty great. I can see basically 180 degrees and miss nothing with a single camera. This is one of the best things about it one camera covers everything.
  • The 2.5K resolution is great.
  • Image quality is great and it adjusts well to the brightness for me so nothing is washed out.
  • 3000 Lumens is extremely bright! Good enough to see anything clearly with the camera
  • I love the ambient lighting
    • I set it between 1%-10% depending on which floodlight it is, to have it on constantly and only go full blast 100% brightness when AI detections occur.
    • 1% ambient lighting is enough to never use Nightvision IR
  • Only turns on full blast 100% when a person is detected (I set mine to do this when they are anywhere in sight, not just on my property), or for the one on my garage, when a moving car comes up my driveway or a person is detected (ignores pets, and all other motion) = Research has actually shown that floodlights which only turn on for people, etc are one of the best deterrents against burglars.
  • Local/Edge AI detections for things work free without a subscription (though I have a subscription, but this helped convince my brother these would be awesome for him)
  • Vehicle detection is limited to moving vehicles, not parked vehicles (tons of people complain about this on the other cams, and this cam solves that issue)
  • It also has a ton of other great things that are applicable to other Wyze cams, but the above are the differences I really like a lot…
Even my neighbors love it...example in the dropdown

I have a neighbor that comes up to me all the time and asks me to go find some kind of footage for him. :joy: His reaction the first time I told him I had a recording of an incident was priceless. He was so excited and didn’t even realize the FLPro was a camera. He was actually HAPPY I had a camera there. And while I block out his house with a detection zone to only do cloud events for what happens on my property, I do have the SD card recording backup, so I can go find something if he tells me he needs something. Just last week one of his garbage cans went missing and he came running over to my house to ask me if I could figure out who stole his garbage can. Turned out the Garbage truck stole it. :joy: So at least the city couldn’t fine him for the missing garbage can when they’re the ones who stole it and we had proof it was their fault, not his.

My main complaint is that it doesn’t have Timelapse even though they said they would get it. I don’t think they will now.

I’ve had several different floodlights and floodlight cameras let alone normal cameras (I even still have cameras from 6 different companies) and this thing is just amazing and the best camera I’ve had for sure. I love it. WyzeHongfei did an AWESOME job designing and launching this thing I met him in person once and told him so to his face. This should be the gold standard of the type of thing they should try to live up to for the rest of their camera launches, at least for the pro line of cameras.

I understand that as a Floodlight and Pro camera it’s more expensive (though still cheaper than most competitors), but I watched for sales, etc. I even got one of them for like $65 on a TikTok Sale which was too good to not get another one. They regularly sell for $99 or less which is still a killer deal IMO for these things. I mean, they’re still great at full price (I bought some that high when they first came out) and better than Ring, etc…but for the extras I waited for steeper sales. They’re not good for everyone’s use-cases, but they were perfect for mine. I’ve really enjoyed them.
