Firmware update to 4.36.10.2864 broke v3 camera

I updated a v3 camera to the 4.36.10.2864 version of the firmware and now I am unable to connect to this camera using my iPhone 13 (iOS 17.1.1) using the Waze app version 2.46.1 (4)

I get 'Failed to connect. Error: (code -48)"

I probably need to power cycle the camera but I won’t be a the location where the camera is for several months.

This sucks. In the future I should use a smart plug from a different vendor to power the camera to I can power cycle it remotely.

4.36.10.2864 is over a year old and was halted. How did you update to this version?

That probably makes sense that it is showing an old version since I can’t actually connect to the camera. It perhaps is showing the last known successful update?

When I launched the app it said several cams needed updates. I chose the option to update the camera.

Could very well be. I would try powercycling the cam (disconnect from power/reconnect) and if that doesn’t work, try doing a factory reset. You’ll have to redo your cam’s settings if you factory reset. If a reset doesn’t work, I think your only other option is a manual firmware flash.

Yea sounds like you’re going to need to be there and power cycle it to resolve this. Smart plugs are a very good idea to put on remote cameras. The Wyze plugs have been extremely reliable for me, but it is a good idea to use a different vendor. I recommend Kasa plugs, they have also been very reliable. Stay away from Wemo, they are terrible and I have to power cycle them frequently…

Yup - from a home automation standpoint time to start thinking of my house as more of a raised floor and less of a three bedroom cape cod.
