I am fed up with my notification settings changing. I will have everything working perfectly and I guess the app updates and it all changes and I will start getting notifications for motion that I wasn’t getting before. It is a huge ordeal to get everything set back again because your settings are so complex. I suspected this is to get us to upgrade and I found information online confirming that. Do better and stop this.

The image you posted appears to be sourced from a generative AI tool which has consumed flawed information and biased opinions (not unusual), because it suggests that what happens is “turning ON features…like Person Detection” which would not be possible for Wyze Cams without a subscription. Additionally, given the observation within the community that even subscribers sometimes report seeing settings change spontaneously, the idea that these changes are intentional and designed to encourage subscriptions doesn’t make much sense to me. (In other words, if this also happens to subscribers, then it doesn’t make sense to interpret these incidents as a strategy to increase subscriber numbers. Why penalize users who are already paying for subscriptions?) In fact, some subscribers have vented about being so frustrated by things like this that they cancel subscriptions, and others go so far as to change platforms.
I absolutely agree that Wyze could do better in many ways, and the settings can, indeed, seem complex. (Sometimes I still tap into the wrong sub-setting for a Cam when I want to check or change something.) Seeing an app or firmware update break an existing feature or otherwise degrade the user experience seems to be an all-too-frequent occurrence. I don’t know how many times I’ve commented on things like that.
Please note that my opinions here are my own, that I do not speak on behalf of Wyze (and, in fact, often criticize them for things I believe they should change or improve), and that the Forum is primarily a user-to-user support community with no guarantee that anyone employed by Wyze will read a particular topic or comment.
