Is anyone having an issue with their window camera giving constant false notifications of a parked vehicle or vehicles across the street with no movement. I had to shut down the notifications because I was getting them every few minutes. Contacted CS and performed troubleshooting and even rebooting the camera. Very frustrating

I had this issue recently with Window Cam and addressed it by creating a Detection Zone to block out the neighbor’s driveway across the street (where the parked vehicle was being detected) and the flag that was waving in the breeze (the motion that actually initiated the event). Since you weren’t specific about what troubleshooting you’ve done so far, that’s where I would focus my efforts (that and adjusting the motion detection sensitivity). If you’re not already using Motion Tagging, then I would also enable that (at least temporarily) as an aid to help you identify where in the Cam’s view motion is being detected. That can help guide your choice of Detection Zone if you choose to use one.
Thanks for getting back to me. I setup the detection zone and will see if that helps the situation. I turned notifications back on but shut down motion because I have a palm tree that is moving with the breeze. Will keep you posted.
As @crease mentioned, excluding the area where cars park is likely your solution.
Background info - when you have a subscription and are using “smart detections” - any time there is motion, a still image is uploaded to wyze servers for analysis. The coordinates of the motion aren’t included so it just looks at the image and looks for known object types that are prominent and tags the most obvious one it finds. So even though the motion was not near the parked car, it sees that and tags it.
Luckily the coordinates of what you’ve excluded in detection zone do seem to be uploaded, so if you exclude parked cars, it will no longer tag them. If there is nothing else it “recognizes” in the clip, it will simply ignore the whole thing and not notify you.
Excluding things that move a lot (trees, flags, etc) that you don’t care about will also help cut down on unnecessary uploads/analysis/possible false alerts too.
Wyze really needs to send the coordinates of the motion along with the still frame, it obviously is possible since the coordinates of the detection zone are known. It’s been discussed here a few times, but not sure if it is something they are working on.
The detection zone is working. The only notifications I have received since setting it up, are for vehicles going up and down my street.
Thanks for getting back to me
