I hope someone can help me because I’ve tried different things and am to the point that I want to get a different brand of camera, between the constant connection issues, even more annoying is the endless notifications of motion being detected, it’s quite annoying to have to have the detection zones so big, but I’m not sure what else to do ( not that they seem to work most of the time anyways). It’s like the cameras don’t care about detection zone settings. I’m on Wyze Cam V3 4.36.14.3497. thank you! I appreciate any help
Are you able to tell what is triggering the Motion? If a bird flys by your camera, AI will see the cars in view and send your a Vehicle Notification.
Are you able to Uncheck Vehicle Notifications? If a vehicle were to pull in your driveway you would not get a Notification unless your camera detects a Person getting out of a car.
Turn on Motion tagging box so you can make sure of what actually is triggering the recording and that it actually is in the road just as the other user said, but also know that if something is in the road, That motion detection box if it hits your activity zone that should detect motion it will detect it as motion. Although we have made great strides in the Detection zone capabilities from when the company was young and we now have the grid system, The way the algorithm works is that the motion itself is slightly bigger than the object you think is moving and the rtagging box is actually encompassing everything that is moving to the camera itself. So if you could turn on that green box and then adjust your detection zone if it is something in the road triggering it that will help you greatly! If the green box hits an area that isn’t shadowed out, you will definitely get motion. Our team caught that many moon ago and we got a far more succinct explanation from the PM than I have given here to day.
This for sure. I think that can be one of the most helpful things to do when troubleshooting Detection Zone issues. If you can capture a still image and upload a screenshot that shows the green Motion Tagging box that triggered an unwanted notification, then that would be especially useful for comparing to your current Detection Zone and providing some feedback.
Your initial image is great! Things like that are really helpful. ![]()
Without seeing an event still with a Motion Tagging box, one possibility that comes to mind is that motion on the road beyond the house and driveway might cause the box to extend into your Detection Zone in the area behind the red car on the left. If you could grey out the four squares there (starting 4 down in the leftmost column and continuing to the right for the remaining 3 squares in that row), then that might provide enough of a buffer so that motion on the road doesn’t extend into the Detection Zone you’re showing in your initial post. You could try starting with that, but sharing still captures with the Motion Tagging box enabled can help to confirm if that is the problem area.
Also, we understand that a lot of users don’t want Motion Tagging enabled all the time, and we’re not suggesting that. It’s a helpful tool for diagnosing these kinds of problems, though, and then once you have the Detection Zone set in a way that gives you the results you want, you can turn Motion Tagging off. Figuring this out can be a trial-and-error process.
