I agree that things like this should be addressed sooner, and I don’t have an ETA on the next production app release (I expect it to be soon, and I realize how relative that word choice is), but if @hancockrwd’s post is any indication and you don’t want to wait, then you could temporarily join the Beta Program to get access to that app from Google Play in order to complete setup and then leave the program at any time when you want to resume using only the production app.
