Why do I have 2 recordings of the same, one is scene action and one is motion

Yes I have short cuts set to record and when I have a event there are two recordings of the same event. One is labeled scene action and the other is by motion.
Yes that is the shortcut activating, if you disable the shortcut you will start to only see the motion event inside of your event page.
I thought the short cuts were used to turn the camera on or off with actions you choose. I only started having this problem a few days ago. This is not a big problem, I was just wondering if there was a reason for it.
