I think you may be onto something there…

Wyze did NOT, by any means, make this transition easy. and for that I would not be happy. But, while voicing that opinion to them rather than to other users who are all riding this rattle trap roller coaster together, we can still help each other with the reality we have to make our systems work. The fact that there are countless posts from users who went through the painful process of migrating their cams to CPL to get their 12s video back is proof that it is possible.

If you have gone to the web page and successfully received confirmation that you have added a CPL license to your account, it should propagate to your app shortly. It took a minute to show up on mine.

I have CamV3, PanCamV1, and VDBV1. If you have other cams I cannot guarantee that the capabilities of your cams are compatible with CPL. If you have other cams and can’t get them on CPL, just post back and ask if anyone has that cam.

Try this:

  1. Make sure you have the most up to date app version from the web store.
  2. Navigate to the Account tab on the right, click Services.
  3. It will default you to the CamPlus list on the left of the spread. Thumb to the far right to get to the CPL.
  4. Click the plus sign to add cams to the CPL.

**If you do NOT see a plus sign it could be because of 3 reasons: Either you have NOT added the CPL to your account on the website OR your cams are assigned to another CamPlus plan (including trials), OR your cams are not compatible with CPL.

**There have been reports in this forum that the account website on a computer browser has not been reliable at adding CPL licenses. I have not seen any reports on iOS. But, Android Chrome is successful.

**It has also been reported that you cannot get the free CPL by adding CPL directly from the app as it does not give you the $0 option. The app just updated… so it may have changed. But why chance it.

  1. When your available cams list appears, change the green checkmark from unassigned to the cam you want to add.

  2. Rinse and repeat until all your cams are added.

**It has also been reported on these forums that the CPL is a one and done license. That is to say it is an account level license for as many cams as you need to add. However, when I tested it early on, I had to add a license on the website for each of the cams I wanted to add. Again, I cannot confirm this.

  1. Go back into the settings on each of these cams, and if it is supported on that type of cam, change the detection recording settings for alerts from thumbnail to 12s video.

**Again, the reason this is so confusing for all of us is because users are running on a thousand different variations of OS, app version, cam type, firmware version, and mixed plans. No one process, procedure or setup will work for everyone. And… the UI seems to be changing regularly as Wyze tweaks (or twerks) the backend.

As you run thru this process, if it does not work, post back with specifics, screenshots, cam versions etc. If one of us on this topic cant help, we all know the best users out there in the forum to tag into the conversation for the specific need or we can take it to the DM. This is how user support forums work.

It has been a LOOOOOOONG day. If I missed any steps, please feel free to help a brain dead fish monger out. My hockey team lost at the arena tonight going into playoff contention and I have not recovered yet.

Be safe and well!
