Error (code 06) "failed to fetch video from cloud."

It’s most definitely not Internet. These cameras should just WORK as promised. Period. Don’t make the consumer go through contortions to make them work properly.

I received 10 Error 6 codes the other day after 6:38 pm EST. Later that night, it all cleared out. I believe the issue is related to the Cloud AWS Storage. It has been stable for me since. I know that Wyze has a new Server AI Developer and believe this will help as streaming from the server across the internet to Android and iOS devices is difficult as iOS handles packets different from that of Android. My error 6 is infrequent, but it should work - not arguing that fact.

IMHO, even with the error 6 and other issues, Wyze is still doing a great job for only being in business for a few years. Where else can you get a Watch or camera for $19 which provides features which rivals the others. Other companies are now taking notice and in some cases started adjusting their pricing.

This is only my opinion and others are welcome to theirs as well.

Glad your issues are infrequent. It does not matter the cost of a product, any product. If you pay for it, it needs to function as advertised. I have never expected less, nor excused a company for lower performance because their product was less expensive. If I buy an economy car, I do not expect it to drive like a Rolls Royce, but I do expect it to perform the advertised functions. The
"where else argument is bogus. Do not fall for it. You work for your money and spend it in good faith. These are the things class action lawsuits are made of.

I don’t disagree with what was said, matter of fact I did state that this needs to be fixed. As you I expect things to work as advertised and believe, no matter the cost, companies need to stand behind what they say and provide. Wyze needs to resolve the issue and a bunch if others, I have said this all over the forum.

However, I have been in technology for 37+ years and have had the same experience with more expensive products and well established companies. I for one would like to deal with Facts and not speculate on what and how Wyze did or is doing something. I have purchased many products from Wyze and other companies. All have had their share of problems, but unlike others in this forum, my experience has not been so bad that I have decided to dump them 100%.

My opinions may be different, but the fact for me is that I welcome the introduction of new devices into the market that causes other companies to start looking at what they are doing. I understand that I am choosing to be an early adopter and willing to test and provide feedback prior to a full launch of the products. Nothings is ever 100% or comes without failures.

I have purchased 2 Dell Desktops in the past, exactly the same (spec and all), they came in on the same day. One got setup and ran without issue, the other came in and it had issues. Took sometime for Dell to reason out the issue. It was resolved, but took time, and this is a large company.

I have an Ecobee Thermostat. I had WiFi issues with the Thermostat and remote sensor issues. My journey on the resolution took months and started with non human contact. It evetually got resolved and I still have it today. There are other products which had issues but not going to go through the entire list.

So rather than bashing a company on releasing products, I rather focus on the issue at hand and work with Wyze to try to get this resolved. I am not an employee of Wyze, just a customer of theirs.

As stated, I am happy with the products I have received, some had issues, but I am still impressed with them the same. My reference to the $19 was not to excuse them, but rather to indicate that it would be difficult to find an outdoor camera with Starlight for the same price. The Wyze watch has limitations and some issues, but it is the first release, I am sure things will be corrected in future updates and new functionality will be provided. However, it still has some features the more expensive watches do not.

We needed a company to cause the larger ones to start thinking about what they are doing and offering, Wyze has done just that.

Agreed.

LOL, he never compromised the product.

I decided to cancel the cam plus. It appeared to be working fine on my doorbell all of my issues were on outdoor cams.

Right. If you need to see more than 12 seconds or see in between cool downs, you can use the playback feature since you have already paid for SD cards anyway.

I know how to use the playback from SD cards on standard Wyze cams however not sure on outdoor cams. Gotta research

Once I removed the SD card from the base station, my outdoor camera started working.

There is no playback on the WCO SD card and you won’t find any videos either unless you do a scheduled event or scheduled continuous recording. Also if you have cam plus you won’t find any videos longer than 12 sec. on the SD card in the base. Mine had about 6 videos over a 5 month period and about 1000 thumbnail photos.

No direct playback on outdoor cam. Pull sd card.

Yup. Useless. Nothing to show the police.

My solution was more involved. I got electric conduit, made trenches, ran power to a central box, tapped off there to wired cam in aftermarket housings. Bought black cam usb cords online. Painted the housings to match the location and I have wired cams outside.

The thumbnail photos on the SD card from the base were continuous about 1 second apart. If I was bored I would stitch them together to make a video, I am not that bored yet.

Right. Me either.

And since my V3 refuses to send me notifications of a Vehicle with just the AI notifications turned on I positioned one of my WCO so it alerts me of motion in the same view area which is a vehicle 99.9% of the time. Go figure…

Yup. Great work around. But I hate that we need to do it.

Hear, HEAR !!!
I’m ALSO FED UP with wyze NONSUPPORT!
GARBAGE products and NO SUPPORT!
CODE (06)
FIX IT ALREADY !!!

Have they even addressed this issue? I don’t mind the problem but the fact that I’ve seen nothing about addressing the problem from them is rediculous and I swear I will be buying some other product other than wyze from now on. Why hide the fact that this is a widespread problems? I suggest everyone msg them on twitter and bring up this issue on every one of their posts. They don’t need the bad publicity but posting in this forum is doing nothing to make them address the issue
