As for why, It’s actually really common for apps to leverage a mobile feature called “Webview” within the app. Most people just don’t know that the app is using a form of the browser. Wyze particularly uses it for authentication/OAuth.

I don’t like Apple Much, so someone else may be able to chime in about the how or confirm the following, but I’m told this works:

  1. Open the Firefox app on your iPad.
  2. Tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines or “hamburger” icon) in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Settings from the menu.
  4. Navigate to the Privacy section.
  5. Under Tracking Protection, disable Enhanced Tracking Protection. This will allow cookies, including third-party cookies, to be enabled.
