I have the new Wyze Duo Cam doorbell and want to know how to disable “Complete Motion Detection” Notifications. I have Cam Plus and only want “Smart Notifications” Package, Pet and Person detection. Those work as expected but I also get "Complete Motion Detection. If I disable Motion under event notification then I don’t get any notifications. I have Smart Detection Events selected (Event Recording) and (Device Notifications) I have Person, Package and Pet selected.
You probably have Other Motion set to NOTIFY.
I don’t have Duo Cam Doorbell, but I would expect most of the options in Settings to be similar to what I see with Video Doorbell v2. If you’re not seeing the Other Motion line on the Customize Detections screen, then you may want to try this:
- From Duo Cam Doorbell’s Live Stream screen, navigate to Settings ➜ Event Recording.
- In the RECORDING PREFERENCES section, tap to select All Events.
- Tap Customize Detections.
- If Other Motion is now visible, then there may be a check beside it in the NOTIFY column. Uncheck that if there is.
- Navigate back one screen to Event Recording.
- In the RECORDING PREFERENCES section, tap Smart Detection Events.
- I’d probably also tap Customize Detections again to confirm my previous selections.
The Other Motion option has been documented as “hidden” when Smart Detection Events are selected, so I wonder if that’s why you’re seeing what you reported.
Thanks, that did the trick. I noticed that if I go back to Smart Detection Events then back to All Events it reenables Other Motion notification.
It actually enables notifications? Meaning that it puts a check in the NOTIFY column beside Other Motion? Is that what you’re saying, or are you saying that it just makes the Other Motion line visible for you so that you can deselect it, and then the app saves and respects the setting you’ve chosen?
When you say…
…I get the impression that the issue is resolved, but then you also wrote that you have the notifications enabled again, so I’m confused.
When I said " it reenables Other Motion notification.", I mean it puts a check in the NOTIFY column beside Other Motion
Yes, your suggestion works, as long as after I uncheck the NOTIFY column beside Other Motion I don’t Select Smart Detection Events
Thanks again for helping me.
