Wyze duo doorbell cam (on battery) is triggering recording events on noises.
How do I stop this?
I only want to trigger off motion in the specified detection zone. Note: I have no cam plus on this camera, but I have an SD card and operating on battery.
I’ve set the detection sensitivity down to the lowest it can go (1) and detection zone down to a small footprint on my front porch. With this, a person walking on the sidewalk or a passing car should NOT trigger an event . But yet I get tons of triggers… When watch the recording… It’s picking ppl and cars up that pass by.
How I knew it was picking up noise triggers was no car or ppl passed by from a few videos, but there were bangs in the background from nearby construction.
Through the settings on the camera… There doesn’t appear to be any way to remove event recording from noise triggers…
There have been some reports about items like this. Please note that it also seems that using the Detection Zone actually does not tag events correctly and therefore, you may get more notifications than expected.
As a test, try turning off the Detection Zone. In addition, if you have Cam Unlimited/Plus, then you can set the sound options under Notifications > Manage or Event Recording > Customize Detection. Make sure no Sound events are set there.
I was finding the same thing. I had turned off all sound notifications but was still getting them. They even presented in the notification as a sound detected.
I just turned off detection zone and so far no alerts from sound. This is frustrating as I need my detection zone working to avoid false movement notifications. Wyze needs to get it together
Running tests now by turning off detection zone as @spamoni suggested.
Will report back my findings. I agree with you @corey1317… Wyze needs to fix this… Its a bit of software bug. And I want my the detection zone feature re-enabled to minimize the false alarms I get. I live in the city w alot of foot traffic and cars. I don’t want my phone chiming excessively.
