My duo cam doorbell is no longer detecting nor recording chosen events.. I have it set to record people, packages, pets, etc. Settings are for as far as possible, 5 minute recording limit and no cool down.
It used to record people coming up the walkway from the sidewalk.. Approx 50 ft away.
Now. . the recording will only start when the person is in front of the door.
I have restarted the camera and my services a million times.. Argh !!
Also. . there’s a weird hidden setting for motion when you turn on ‘all events’, then ‘customize’..
You’ll see motion.. Even if you turn it off, it tends to turn back on..
“All Events” means you want all motion recorded. That’s why it’s always on. Choose the other selection, “Smart Detection”, if you don’t want to record every little motion.
Have you actually power cycled it? I’ve had to power cycle mine before. Which is why it’s really dumb that it runs on battery power, even when powered by the mains. I put a ZWave relay in between the camera and my transformer, so before I had the DuoCam, I could even remotely power cycle the camera, to reset it properly and get it functioning properly.
I have the Duo doorbell, too. That problem comes and goes. Sometimes it works, sometimes, it doesn’t. I suspect they’re trying out possible solutions on the server side, and that’s why the results aren’t consistent.
