There is a long delay (up to 1 hour) in receiving a virtual call to my Samsung S24 Ultra after someone rings my Duo Cam Doorbell. Today, my mother stopped by and rung my doorbell and I didn’t receive a virtual call until an hour later. I started noticing these delays a week or two ago. Anyone else experiencing this?
Interesting, Do you have the WiFi chime Attached? if so, does that ring quickly?
On your Samsung Phone, did you set it up so that the Battery runs as Unrestricted or Optimized? Making sure that it is set to unrestricted allows for notifications to ring through when the app or phone is not active.
Also, what App Version are you using and What is the Firmware of your Duo Doorbell?
Just something to check.
Yes - I have the Wyze WiFi Chime attached. So, it may be important to note that I’ve only noticed this issue when I’m not at home or when I’m far away from my doorbell/chime (in my office on the 2nd floor of my house). I’ll get a virtual call and then answer it to find nobody there and then I’ll check my events and see that somebody came and rang it 15 to 60 mins ago.
Just now, I stood right next to my doorbell and tested it (rang it) and I received a virtual call immediately - Could it could be related to my location or internet connection? I have Metronet fiber internet, and have a Google Nest mesh network with 1 primary router and 5 points. Internet speeds obviously declines the further I’m away from my primary router.
Wyze App battery setting: Optimized (I just changed it to Unrestricted - let’s see if this is the root cause)
App: v3.8.7 (725)
Duo Cam Doorbell: 1.0.24.37
Wyze WiFi Chime: 1.0.0.43
It is possible that it could be proximity. Have you tested your WiFi signal strength in the different locations? I currently use a TPLink setup for my network. I don’t seem to be experiencing the same issue, but I will test it some today for you.
I have 2 WiFi Chimes positioned at each end of my house. So when someone rings the doorbell, both chimes go off. I just checked and it appears they are sold out on Wyze: Wyze Universal Wi-Fi Chime
I would also open a Ticket with Wyze and Generate a Log so Wyze can see what is happening.
Thanks - I’ll keep my eye out for when the WiFi chimes are back in stock (been meaning to get one), and I’ll open up a ticket.
And yes, I have tested WiFi signal strength. Right now, I just got 130 mbps (download) and 158.6 mbps (upload) in my 2nd floor office and about the same speeds standing right next to my front door on the main level of my house (primary router is on the main level).
