I have a Wyze Video Doorbell v2 that was installed in August 2023. I recently upgraded the app so that it rings my cellphone when activated by pushing the button. I answer when it rings my phone, but they cannot hear me until it connects, which takes a while.
.
It is long enough that some might think no one is home. I am using a Google mesh wifi system, and our cellphone service is Verizon. I am answering it from my living room. How slow will it be when I am in another state? Who is causing the delay: Wyze, Verizon, or the doorbell?
.
Is there any way to make the connection happen a little faster?

If there is, then I’m interested in learning the answer, too, because I recently enabled the VoIP option for my Video Doorbell v2.
From my user perspective on Android, it looks like the phone call comes in pretty quickly following a doorbell button press, and the hand-off from the phone app to the Wyze app is also reasonably brisk, then the typical Wyze app live stream loading lag takes effect, even though I’ve got decent Wi-Fi and a fiber connection.
My best guess is it’s coming down to Wyze app performance, but I don’t know where the specific bottleneck is.
Same for me as well.
