Doorbell v2 not notifying my Echo Show

I am unable to get my Echo Show get notified when I press my Doorbell button IF I have the mechanical chime enabled. If I set my chime type to NONE, I am then able to get notified on my Echo Show along with a live view, but of course no mechanical chime. If I go back and select the chime to mechanical, the mechanical chime works, but I no longer get notifications or live view on the Echo Show. I have verified that my chime controller is wired correctly and it does work if I select it as my chime type. Struggling to fix this. Why can’t my mechanical chime and echo show both work at the same time?

I have tried everything including rewiring and it still behaves as described above. SUPPORT TEAM, if you are reading this message can you please reply. I would really like to get this working as designed.

Hi, I “sort of” sounds like you have already done this, but let me ask. Have you linked the Alexa skill for Wyze to your Wyze account? If you have, good, but I suggest you also then, try this. Unlink it and re-link it.

What version of Echo Show do you have. There have always been some display issues with Gen 2, and Echo time tells me they have not been able to resolve it. I have 6 Shows. And I bought 3-4 on eBay and sold my 2nd Gens to get rid of them.

As this is primarily a user-to-user support community, I wonder what Support has said when you contacted them directly. If you haven’t already done so, then I’d be inclined to replicate the issue, submit a log from the app, and then open a ticket that refers specifically to the Log ID that you generated along with giving a detailed description of the problem you’re experiencing.

If I correctly understand what you’ve described so far, then I think it’s an unintended behavior from a legitimate setting selection, and I wonder if something on Wyze’s end is failing to send the correct signal to Amazon Alexa whenever you have Doorbell Chime Type set for Mechanical. If it’s working when you set that option to None, then I think it’s reasonable to expect that to work when you set it to Mechanical, as well, though I don’t know if the problem is occurring on the Wyze side or the Amazon side.

Yes, I have tried the link-unlink-relink process. It is the Echo Show 15 purchased a couple of years ago.

And yes, it is odd that if I set the chime to NONE, I get notified on my Echo Show but nothing on my mechanical doorbell.

One other thing you could try if you haven’t already is to try setting Doorbell Chime Type to Digital. This isn’t really your particular situation, but sometimes Wyze Support will recommend trying that setting even when your actual doorbell chime hardware is mechanical, and this is described in a troubleshooting article in the Help Center.

I don’t really expect that to be your solution, but even if it is I’d still log it and open a ticket, because I can’t think of any reason why selecting Mechanical shouldn’t give you both a working mechanical chime actuation and the notifications on your Echo, especially when selecting None is working for the Echo. That seems like something that needs a server-side fix somewhere.

Thanks. Setting to digital did not work, but the doorbell still rang. Interesting.

Yeah, that’s what I would’ve expected to happen based on what you’ve previously written, but I still think that’s the wrong behavior. I’d log it and contact Wyze.
