Door bell not talking to Alexa

My Wyze doorbell v2and Alexa dont always connect correctly. I have recently upgraded my doorbell but I am having trouble connecting it to Alexa. The doorbell is programmed to notify when a person is detected. The door bell chime is set to digital. All events are working correctly in the Wyze app. Person detection and doorbell press events are noted within Wyze and events are recorded. Alexa is programmed to say “someone rang the doorbell” when the doorbell is pressed and it is programmed in a different routine to say “someone is in the front yard” when the doorbell detects a person. Since installing the doorbell, Alexa often announces when a person is seen and occasionally announces someone rang the bell but not often.

I have updated both apps, reset all devices, removed and reloaded detection settings. I am on Ios 18.6.2

Have you tried removing and reinstalling/reconfiguring the Wyze skill?

Good question. It was the most recent thing I have done and it had no impact.

Now one of my outdoor cams has stopped alerting for “persons.” I have also removed the doorbell from my app and rediscovered it with no change. This is sounding like more of an app thing than a configuration issue.
