I would not recommend Wyze cameras as they appear to deliver software packages that render the SD card obsolete and says to check if your SD is properly inserted. I have 4 Pan Cam V3 cameras and all are equipped with quality Scan Disk cards that are rated for out door indoor use. All 4 cameras gave an error code after an update after the warranty period was completed. I went through all the trouble shoots and called customer service which are just call takers and listeners, meaning nothing was done. No follow up and no solution. This is in my opinion a direct pipeline to force the consumer to buy there outrageous priced data packages to save the footage and take the control out of your hands, yup it’s pretty dirty bussiness and I will copy and paste this to consumer reports to investigate. I have 4 cameras all with the same issue so the odds are that a service update was installed telling the SD card to malfunction. There is no other explanation and Wyze doesn’t want to make it right.
“Scan Disk” is a fake brand intended to trick you into thinking they’re genuine Sandisk cards. Sandisk is the most counterfeited SD card out there, even when they have the correct brand name, there is high risk that they’re a small card disguised as a bigger one.
No doubt there is some sort of issue with the Panv3 and SD cards. While my Panv3s (3 of them) have never given any issues, it is unlikely all the complaints are strictly related to the cards or power supplies, etc. I know Wyze is still actively trying to sort it out. Note that all my Panv3s have run every firmware and Android app released since mid 2023, and they’re still running the same Samsung High Endurance cards that I bought at that same time. From what I can recall I’ve never even formatted the SD cards in them, maybe once in one cam when trying to troubleshoot something years ago.
But in your case, it is the cards being used that is the problem.
The whole “they’re doing this on purpose to force you to subscribe” is played out, don’t bother trying to push that narrative.
Heck I was in Walmart last night picking up motor oil and happened to see a display of Wyze cameras, they had the Panv3 on clearance for like $20. If it wasn’t sold out, I’d have grabbed another one.
There are LOTS of people who have reported uSD card issues with Pan V3 cameras - FAR higher failure rate than any other Wyze cameras. As far as I know, no one has really come up with a reliable solution.
The only solution that is sure to work is to buy a replacement camera or have your camera replaced by WYZE (while supplies last) before the warranty expires.
You buy FAKE cards and blame Wyze for it, right?
I have never bought a MicroSD card from Wyze, but I buy quality ones from Amazon. I have purchased more than 20 Wyze Cams to date and none of them has had a problem with micoSD card ever.
Instead of advising us, ask us for advise on the right cards to purchase.
Your problem obviously is not the cameras, but your microSD cards!
But hey, if anyone believes Wyze cameras are not for them, noone forces you to buy them. There are so many options out there. Just keep your negativity and misfortunes in a safe, because there are many of us who are happy and swear by Wyze cameras!
