I am discarding all my Wyze cams since the app has been changed to prevent me from viewing my SD recordings unless I subscribe to Cam plus.
No, it has not. You can view your SD card recordings by clicking on the SD card icon.
Already tried all that…doesn’t work. The app used to work fine but now is a nightmare
, do whatever needs to be done.
I can view my sd card just fine on all my cameras. Have you tried clearing your app cache or restarting the cameras/disconnecting them from power and back on?
Wyze has done nothing of the sort. But feel free to throw out your cams.
If you’re going to discard them at least do it because you replaced them with a better brand…..

Even though Wyze cams thoroughly suck, the SD card does work if you know how to use it ![]()
I am not sure if you are still doing this, but just factory reset them and update the firmware. See if you can get into one of them again, if not, reset it again and sell them used on Ebay or at the neighbor’s garage sale! ![]()
Here you tried viewing SD card video from the Live View screen and then clicking View Playback button?
On one of my Cam v3 cameras I get this error message when trying to access the SD card from the Events screen.
What brand of SD card is in this camera? I used to get that error a lot until I started using a better quality micro SD card. That stopped the annoying error message for me. Ask @Bam
I have a SanDisk 8GB SD card in the problem v3. I have tried a 32GB SanDisk card that works as it should in a different v3. I have done a factory reset and even manually flashed the firmware back to an older version and still get the above error.
This v3 I use in my garage mainly to make sure my garage door stays shut when I am not home, so I rarely need to review the SD card. I can view the SD card from the Live View screen, so it still works well enough for my needs.
Have you ever tried High Endurance SD cards?
I have used several different brands over the years including a few Wyze SD cards. But the high endurance SD cards tend to perform the best overall with less errors. After I switched to high endurance SD cards, I’ve rarely had any issues.
, do they still make them at that size?
You can find plenty of 8 GB SD cards on Amazon.
All of my SanDisk 32GB cards are High Endurance. The 8GB is not High Endurance, just an old card I had laying around. I put it in my problem camera because all SD cards have the “Micro SD Card Not Found” error whether High Endurance or not.
That’s really weird.
I’ve had issues with SanDisk in the past so stopped using them. Most of my Wyze cameras have Samsung Pro high endurance cards and they work perfectly.
Here is another thread discussing my issue. Forum User stanlam has a solution that previously fixed the issue on a couple other of my v3 cameras. My one v3 camera seems to be stubborn.
I will gladly take all your discarded cameras. They work great for me.
The SD card works fine from the camera home / live stream page. It’s my understanding there are some cameras that might be having issues linking to it from the events tab. If that happens to you for some reason, just go to the live stream and click on the SD card button from there.
As for SD cards, 90% of my 60+ cameras use SD cards from SanDisk, many of them for over 5 years and ongoing. All 1080p cameras and some 2K cameras use non-high endurance cards. So continuous recording. I have not had a card go bad yet. SanDisk has been amazing for me. I know some. I know some people report some problems with cards that aren’t high endurance but I I have not experienced any of those problems with 50 different cameras. I have started to use high endurance in some of the 2K and 4K cameras though.
Yeah I’ve seen the events tab issue on a couple of my cams. This happened with the Panv3 quite a while ago and go fixed, and I think it has come and gone on a couple of the other models I have. Haven’t taken the time to figure out which are/aren’t doing it, I think the v4 has the problem, which would make sense as the interface I believe is now the same/similar to the v3.
Have also been having intermittent issues with notifications but I noticed that at some point something reset my android battery setting for wyze to “balanced” and changing it back to unrestricted has fixed that (along with making sure “running in background” is enabled in the app).
My Panv3 waypoints (only have 1 “home” one on each) also stopped doing anything again, had to delete and recreate them.
I’m starting to see why some people are still attached to the 2.5 app.
But OPs insinuation that even with the events tab error that it is anything to do with forcing a subscription is obviously not accurate. Unless someone has a screen shot showing “to view your SD card video, upgrade to CAM+” or something. As you know, I’ve said it before, an error, bug, or glitch is not a conspiracy.
