Do you people think WyzeCam is really for $20? I don't think it is

This post is much to do about nothing. Wish I could get the time back I wasted reading it. :man_facepalming:t2:

Each Wyze v2 is $19.99, shipping is separate and as others have said on this thread, everyone is just so used to “Free” shipping but that happens when you have a big profit margin to play with and can actually offer that.

It’s no big secret that Wyze is most likely losing money is making a very small margin per each camera sold (Take into consideration cloud fees) so obviously they can’t do free shipping or after “x” amount of cameras.

They are also most likely using a third party for logistics as someone also mentioned and that carries a fee on top.

Anyways, if anyone wants to know how much the cameras actually end up being if you buy from 1 to 7 (This is the max amount allowed on the site) its:

1x Wyze Cam v2 $25.98 1x Wyze Cam Pan $37.98
2x $24.44 2x $35.25
3x $23.68 3x $34.15
4x $23.21 4x $33.54
5x $22.88 5x $33.13
6x $22.64 6x $32.84
7x $22.45 7x $32.61

We don’t lose money on the sales. We have a thin margin but it is present.

There is no point to this post.

Buy the camera and write about the actual product, not shipping costs.

[…don’t think the the original post is correct] and I’m just a guy who happens to ship items out to customers.

Sigh. Why do I allow myself to be sucked into things like this?
First, there is no such thing as free shipping. The post office, UPS, FedEx, flying monkeys, whatever ALL charge to ship a package to your house. Somewhere, you have to pay for it. Either in increased product cost, or subscription fees like Amazon Prime, or both (like Amazon).

Second, even if 2 cams fit in the same box that they ship one in, it still weighs more, and package carriers generally charge businesses by weight and size, not just by package size.

Third, and the point nobody else mentioned - Wyze charges a fee for :shipping and handling", not just shipping. Even IF the shipping company charged the same amount to ship one item or 5, someone STILL had to pull 5 different items off the shelf, package them, adjust and restock the shelf, order more, etc. There is some amount of labor involved with each item besides shipping the box.
Wyze is being extremely up front and honest about what and where your costs are when you buy from them.

They say that negative news is more compelling than positive. The bait that powers the click, so to speak.

As long as you know that these cameras are toys and not designed to be reliable, then yes they are with the $25 shipped.

This post complaining about $5 shipping charge is (removed) when you consider a single Post Office priority mail is now $7.35. All reasonable individuals expect a shipping charge to be applied, whether that is included in the price like at Amazon, or it is added on by the supplier. What you have to realize is what an incredible bargain you are receiving in a $20 camera that meets or exceeds the capabilities of $200 cameras and also includes a reasonable amount cloud storage at no cost whatsoever. We all congratulate and celebrateWyze’s ability to offer us so much capability and value it’s such a reasonable price.

I’m loving the price on Wyze products, and don’t mind the shipping charges. They’re still a steal at this price! OP: Do we need to get a collection to send you the $6 for shipping so you can order one and try it out? I’m game…

You can always buy another manufacturers cam at 500% more than WyzeCams! :man_facepalming:t2: And get less support and innovation. :man_shrugging:t2: Their products have been high quality and support outstanding. They continue to innovate at a low cost.:+1:t2:

Really it’s not the shipping fee people should be railing about. It’s the fees to use your cameras freely. I saw no mention on amazon where my eyes came were a purchase because I saw they were cheaper than blink, and I had some issues with blink batteries being expensive with no viable rechargeable solution (the chargeable you can find don’t work well) and the throw away batteries just get too expensive. So I bought these while cams as well and noticed problems right away. Yes it’s free to use as long as you don’t mind a small snippet of your video every couple of minutes. If you’re lucky, you can catch a break when they offer a deal where you pay your own price on their subs but it’s still ridiculous to have to pay anything for functionality of your cams.

Welcome to the forum.

Not sure what that means…

Didn’t you wonder why the same camera was being advertised including CAM Plus?

You can record all you like on an SD card in the camera. Yes, you have to pay for the SD card.

That “deal” only existed for customers that signed up before Nov 2019.
