I have my Cam Pan v3 mounted in a way to capture my driveway, street, sidewalk, and porch area. The issue is I have a flag mounted on the house in the porch area, so I set the detection zone to gray in all areas which the flag can wave in. Fully extending the flag manually and ensuring the Detection zone is set as a grayed box. As I understand grayed area are locations which the camera will ignore motion. And yet, the camera still detects when the flag moves and turns away from the driveway and street area and remains focused on the flag waving in the wind. Then at times the camera will turn and face the wall behind it for up to a minute before turning back to its set waypoint. What is the purpose of setting a detection zone and a single waypoint of focus if the camera just does its own thing and spins and records every motion in the area, even detecting motion which is a reflection off the windows on my garage door. Be happy to upload a picture but not seeing an option to do so. In searching on this topic, I found there were similar issues back in 2022, and the answer was to update the App. Here it is 2025, and my app is fully updated, and still having issues.
If you have pan/scan or track motion enabled, the detection zone has little to no effect, it only really works if you have the cam in a static position.
