Delayed and broken up sound on tecordings

I just upgraded to unlimited plus, thinking that maybe these issues would go away. Unfortunately every single camera I have, all of them on the latest firmware, my app is updated to the latest version as well,

As you can see by the picture my camera is about 2 feet away from the Wi-Fi. The other cameras who are decent distance still getting good signals have exactly the same issues.

The recordings are chopping audio cuts out is delayed dramatically, is this common? Or is there something wrong here that I might be able to fix?

just showing that the camera is maybe 1 foot away from the Wi-Fi, others good signal at a reasonable distance away or having exactly the same issues.

Does this happen with both cam plus and SD card? It is possible it is an issue on your viewing device (phone) and not the cam. Try watching the recordings via Web View and/or put the SD card in a computer and see if the issue is still there.

The audio on my v4 is not choppy at all, and I’m viewing off the SD card going through Wyze’s servers since I’m not on the same network. The only issue I see sometimes is the audio is out of synch with the video but that is likely due to the fact that my v4 is in a spot where the wifi is pretty poor. If I stop and start the playback it synchs up again when that happens.

my laptop, my cell phone, my iPad, everything. The recordings directly from the app, after I download them they get even more chewed up and weird. I do video editing all day long from different sources and never have this issue, only with the videos from my Wyse cameras.

There are two totally separate types of recordings. Ones that record to the SD card, and ones that record to the cloud with Cam Plus subscription. Which one(s) are giving you problems?

I know there have been some issues with the “download” (or maybe it is “share”) feature for cloud (cam plus) clips, they use a strange codec for the audio (A-LAW I believe, typically used for phone call compression). Maybe your software is having issues decoding that? SD card clips should not use that compression, and I believe there is a way to get the cloud clips to use something else too.

I do not use SD cards. if you know how to use a different decoder for subscription video, I would love to know how. Perhaps Apple has a problem with their standard decoder?

I have the same issue. I record to the cloud and the audio is consistently cutting in and out on playback. This reduces the value of the video recordings significantly. Help

I have since inserted SD cards, and this issue has improved, Dramatically!

The reason the issue improved is that SD card recordings happen locally. Persistent issue is a clear indication of poor connectivity with Wyze servers.

I use an SD card and I am having the same problem. I can view the video in the app, but when I record the video the audio is not syncing properly. It’s delayed several seconds behind the video. Why is that and how can I correct it?

It is very rarely synced up no matter how I try to view the recordings, even the live video is sometimes off. It’s probably due to Wi-Fi lag.

Then this is a poor design issue. I just recently had someone hit my car and I had to show the video to the police and the insurance company. But the audio is so out of sync of what happened it it throws the story off just a little bit because it makes it appear that one action took place long after it actually happened because you can’t hear in line with the video. I can’t believe wise hasn’t resolved this issue. I’ve been doing a little digging and apparently this has been a constant issue for years based off of some of the posts that I’ve seen online as well as here in the wise Forum chat. That makes for an inferior product and has me seriously considering changing products.

Which cam do you have? I’ve noticed this sometimes on the v4 but then exiting and going back in in it is fine. My OGs and Panv3s don’t have this issue (actually I haven’t recorded anything from the v4 or even done a lot of SD card reviewing lately which also sometimes had the problem, so maybe it has been fixed).

Wifi signal issues can also create a lag, but I’ve found in those cases usually both the video and audio lag (not exactly in synch but not a major difference either).
