The App would greatly benefit from having a “dedicated/persistent” button which takes you to a page where you can control the notifications for ALL your devices in one place. This would be much easier and simpler than having to navigate to Camera > Settings > Notifications > Toggle on/off > Back > Back > Back for each Cam.
I discovered this idea tonight after I recharged one of my cameras, and I went to make sure notifications for it were on, and the App gave me a message saying I needed to enable push notifications (odd, they always have been enabled) so i clicked the ‘push notification’ link provided and it brought me to a page showing toggle switches for all of my cameras….I was like “Yes! This is awesome!” thinking it was a new feature but was sad to realize it was not a new design and goes away once I enabled it sadface.
This notification toggle page should ideally just slide/drop down when needed, so when you are done it slides back up and you return to wherever you were in the App without having to navigate back.
The idea of a persistent button for this is in keeping with the overall need for a persistent Menu Bar which is always visible on every page to eliminate all of the annoying Back > Back > Back navigation which has bothered me about the App for awhile.
I would definitely add that to the wish list. Would be something that other people could vote on over there. I’m also gonna tag in the moderators to see if they might enjoy moving this to the wish list instead. If nothing else maybe they’ll shoot you a message as further guidance as I am not high up on that chain to do it myself
@Mods could we get this moved or would you rather them make a separate topic over there?
My Bad….I thought I WAS posting my thread to the Wishlist….under the WyzeApp topic. Did I screw that up? If so, feel free to move it….or let me know if I should try posting there again.
Don’t sweat it. Since @Bam tagged the Moderators, someone will look at it at some point. For future reference, you can flag posts (even your own, I think) and select Something Else in the window that pops up. This is an easy way to contact the Moderators if you think something needs to be recategorized or retagged.
I am confused about something in your initial post, though:
Can you explain more about what happened? I’m wondering what you’re describing and if it might be an iOS-specific bug.
Using Android, I can navigate in the Wyze app to Account ➜ Notifications ➜ Push Notifications ➜ Enable ➜ DEVICE NOTIFICATIONS and see a persistent list of my cameras that I can toggle on and off individually. Note that this is a non-granular on/off toggle for cameras only. If I want to, say, enable motion notifications but not sound notifications for my doorbell camera (which I do), then I have to navigate into that individual device’s settings to do that.
Also, on the app’s Home screen (doesn’t matter if you’re on the Favorites, Devices, or Automations tab), there’s a bell icon in the upper-right that acts like a global on/off switch for notifications. I totally ignored that for a long time (in previous app versions) and finally had an “Aha!” moment when I read someone else pointing it out in another Forum topic a few months ago.

Let me see if I can explain it. First, yes I know the icon on top of screen toggles all notifications, however I rarely use that, since I have cameras indoors and outdoors for different purpose and usually just turn on notifications when I need them.
The other day I had to recharge one of my v2 outdoor cams (it had died) and when it was done I did my usual task of navigating to that camera, selecting settings and notifications to make sure notifications were turned on. However, when I did this, there was a message on screen telling me that in order to turn on notifications, I first had to ENABLE ‘push notifications’. I had never seen this message ever before in 2 years…push notifications have always been enbled and worked for me. I figured it was just confused from battery loss. I clicked the “push notifications” link provided and it brought me to a page/screen that showed a list of ALL my comeras with toggle switches for notifications, as well as an option to change my notification sound. I had never seen such a page before and LOVED IT. Something like this would make my common task of toggling notifications on/off only for the cameras I want much easier…it is the most common setting I change almost every day.
I originally thought this was a new page/feature you had added, and was very happy. I later realized that I cannot get back to it, because the “push notifications” link I clicked is now gone. I suspect that I could get it to come back if I turn off push notifications, but have not tried it since that wouldn’t serve much purpose. Anyway, that’s what gave me the idea for that feature. If there are others who would want a quick and easy way to toggle notifications for just a few cameras, this is the way.
Yeah, that third image (IMG_8489) is what I was referring to when I previously wrote that I navigate in the app to Account ➜ Notifications ➜ Push Notifications ➜ Enable ➜ DEVICE NOTIFICATIONS and see a persistent list of my cameras that I can toggle on and off individually.
Just because you’re watching a chicken coop doesn’t mean you’re not a weirdo (and I’m saying this as a weirdo).
Oh, for sure. I don’t use iOS, so I wasn’t 100% certain that the process is the same, but I’m glad (or at least hope) that you won’t be missing out on a feature that’s already in the app.
Edit: Also, I’ve actually gone way out of town to listen to a band play in a chicken coop, so what kind of a weirdo does that make me?
To be more precise, it was actually more like a practice/jam session and not necessarily the full band my dad used to play with, mostly older rock and roll and country tunes.
They did play in an actual chicken coop, but by that time it had been converted to more of a studio outbuilding by the musician who owned the farm.
