Daisy Chain

Hello Everyone,

I would like to know the maximum amount of distance I can place one camera away from its power source (using regular usb cable)?

Also, If I would like to add another, how far could I extend it, using one power adapter? (no crazy hardware, just plain usb cables)

From my experience using the V2 cam, 1 amp adapter and 6’ USB cable…2 usb cables and 3 V2 cams. If more cams or longer cables the adapter needs to be 2 or more amps.

I believe the recommended max is about 26 feet for USB power only. I use this cable with no issues with the adapter sold with the Wyze camera. You could then use the included cable to daisy chain a second camera but that may require upping the amperage on the adapter.

Please keep in mind, it is not recommended to do daisy chains with Pan cameras. Only V1 and V2 models.

I honestly keep forgetting that point. I don’t have any Pans that are daisy chained myself, just 2 V2’s. Thanks for catching that oversight. The motor on the Pan adds to the draw, especially when in use so I am sure it can cause issues especially with edge cases.

You’re welcome!

Do you have any firsthand experience of whether it works with a V2 daisychained to a Pan? I understand the increased power requirements, but I would use the Pan wall wart and we’re only talking 2 cameras here.

It’s best to avoid it due to power consumption. This support article explains daisy chaining Wyze cams.
