New camera customer here, but I couldn’t even get started because my attempts to download the Android app always stalled - usually at the 67% complete mark - then after a few minutes simply quit.

I waited for 20 minutes for a chat session but the person at the other end was no better than a bot. Had no technical knowledge or understanding and seemed to do no more than follow a simple-minded script.

“App doesn’t always work even if app requirements are satisfied” or something to that effect. My problem was about the download failing, so I had not even been able to launch the app. My phone is a Pixel 7 running Android version 14 btw.

I wasted lots of time going through steps I had already tried.

Then, I finally asked whether there were still issues with AWS, The person failed to address the question and merely repeated the canned response about the app not working for some non-specific reasons.

Worst customer experience ever.

If you’re comfortable downloading the Wyze app apk, you can install it yourself.

Update: It turns out that downloading over cell service (rather than WiFi) worked! Strange, since I have never had issues with downloading apps or anything else with my ISP, and am pretty sure it applies no data caps.

The support rep might have indicated that there might be something unusual about the Wyze app case rather than just ask whether I had tried. I have apologized (in part) for being harsh.

Anyway, I hope others can save mucho time by this.
