Curiosity: Noise during firmware upgrade

I just received 2 Wyzecam v2’s in the mail. I turn them both on, joined them to my app and did the firmware upgrades. Both cameras upgraded without problems.

However, I did notice that both cameras made a distinct clicking sound internally during the firmware upgrade process. The clicking repeated every few seconds until the upgrade was complete. I find it strange that the firmware upgrade would require some mechanical step that would result in a physical clicking sound.

Any ideas?

That is normal. The IR filter that is used in conjunction with night vision is mechanical and it is “exercised” during the firmware upgrade. You will here this same click when the camera switches in and out of night vision mode.
