Control a single light

Re: Smart Switch
Situation: Home was built around 1974. In 1994 I purchased home and had an electrician update all circuits. I have three Wyze smart switches controlling Kitchen, Dinning Room, and Bedroom Lights. With the Wyze App I am able to schedule lights on and off. All Great. I have one extra Wyze switch and would like to control the Hall Light. Problem is it is a single fixture that is controlled by two Decora lighted switches. When light is off there is a small light in the switch so that I can see where the switch is. I walk in turn light on. When I get to the other end of the hallway I can turn light off. There are three wires attached to the switch RED, BLACK to side of switch and a White to the back of switch. I think the white is what gives power for the built in lamp. If I replace one switch with my extra Wyze smart switch, would it work?

That sounds like a 3-way switch situation where the red wire is likely the “traveler”. Typically white would be neutral, and while I don’t think that’s technically what’s providing power to the illuminated switch, it is the kind of thing that’s necessary to complete the circuit so that constant power is being delivered (typically by the black “live” or “line” wire) for that illumination feature (much like how neutral wires are usually required for smart switches so that they always have power available for keeping the device energized for an active Wi-Fi connection, at least as I understand it). There might be ways to do want you want involving other gadgets, but since the Wyze Switch is a single-pole switch it’s not going to be a drop-in replacement alone for this kind of application.

I’ll be interested to see what others suggest.
