this is a documented design flaw. they will replace these if under warranty. but for a full proof system you have to either get their v2 or go with another vendor.
Can you point me to where Wyze indicates this is a “documented design flaw”?
Interesting when contacting service as the FAQ states - they just apologize. Then tell you the V1 sensors are no longer and you need to move to the new security system… and no discount for doing that. I see this as a wyze fail…
Unfortunately the v1 Wyze Sensors are no longer in production and we cannot issue replacements at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
…and the Wyze response to these truly crappy “security” sensors would be the key reason we are taking a break from buying Wyze stuff for now. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.
It seems readily apparent Wyze went on a product launch binge that was beyond their capabilities.
I’m kind of shocked that Wyze will do nothing to fix the problem of their own faulty product!
Support wasn’t helpful at all. They kept repeating that the v1 Sensors are “no more in production” and that “v2 Wyze Sensors that work with the Wyze Home Monitoring Service are currently available for individual purchase”.
Yeah, no thanks!
Per the Wyze Website if you meet all the requirements (Less than 1 yr from purchase; purchased from Wyze or authorized reseller; receipt or order number) you would be entitled to repair, replacement or refund, regardless of whether the product is still being sold or manufactured. Anyone from Wyze want to chime in? @UserCustomerGwen ?

I had the same issue on a motion sensor that triggerec by camera, and I found a solution that made mine work. While near my camera the I added a new sensor as if it was new. The camera said it was waiting to connect, Then I held the reset down, then inserted the new battery while holding the reset button down. Keep holding until it flashes. This brought mine back to life.
Cheers,
Edward
