Constantly getting too many login attempts when trying to log into IOS app?!?

Hello,

Started ~6 weeks ago, i suddenly cant login to second device as i keep getting “Too many login attempts, you must wait 15 minutes to try again”.

Anybody else getting this problem?

( i can gain access if i change my password, but i have to keep resetting my password as my second device keeps getting logged out).

Super frustrating.

Are you using a VPN? Are you able to login on a different device or network?

I am having the exact same problem. Has been happening for the last several weeks, I am NOT using a VPN, so forget about that suggestion. Highly annoying. I’ve had to change my password every few days in order to gain access to the cameras.

This is also happening to me. I have to log in using Google OAuth and I really, really hate that. I just want to use my Wyze account.

As of today, I am STILL being forced to change my password after the dreaded “Wait 15 minutes” message. No response at all from Wyze on this.

I’ve been fighting this problem too. Response from support has been worse than abysmal. Days to respond, repeating the same steps that I’ve already told them I’ve tried.

Basically, my account is AUTOLOCKING after the first use following resetting the password. This means ANY access to my account requires a password reset, then a login then once I logout or attempt login on another device I get the dreaded “Too many login attempts. Try again in 15 mins”

BTW - the auto account unlock in 15 mins has NEVER WORKED.

Their “solution” - create a new account (which by the way is what I’m using now since you can’t get to the forums without logging in). I have informed them that is NOT a solution since I would have to reconnect all my cameras and SIX of them are over 2,000 miles away.

Then, after three weeks, they finally asked me to include security@wyze.com. No help there. We are now at two months with no access to the cameras from iPhone, iPad or the browser.

PITIFUL!!!

I am now working on finding an alternative to Wyze after being a satisfied customer for nearly TEN years.

The Wyze team does not know how to do user and access management.

So my solution to this problem was:

  1. Log out of every device that you have logged in with from wyze (in my case, two iphones and an ipad). If your logged in with a PC, log out, and make sure to clear your browser cookies (this didnt work the first time for me, until I cleared my browser cookies as well).
  2. If these are mobile devices, delete the apps and any retained settings.
  3. log into wyze from a desktop computer. Change the password.
  4. Re-install the apps on your mobile device,
  5. Log-in…
  6. Rejoice after a few weeks of no more prompts.

I havn’t had a login problem now in 5-6 months.
