Configuration for toggling on auxilary heating

Hi all,

I searched through the prior posts and could not find anything similar to what I am trying to achieve with my setup. I recently installed the Wyze thermostat and trying to replicate what my previous smart thermostat had. The prior setup had these 6x wires: C, O/B, RC, W/E, Y, G and would let me to manually select auxilary heat whenever I chose to. The system has forced air with a heat pump, which is the default heating source, as well as natural gas that is secondary and switches over automatically with a sensor when outdoor temperatures get to 10 degrees. I now want to configure the setup so that it works the same as my prior thermostat to allow me to manually select auxilary heat when I choose to. I ended up taking the wire that was formerly W/E and put it into W1, but I feel like that’s not the solution I needed. At the time of setup, it ran all the tests seemingly fine and set the heat pump as stage 1 heating (test successful) and natural gas as stage 2 heating (test successful). Any suggestions greatly appreciated, thanks.
