Well wtf. I literally just pasted the exact same link and it worked this time.
That’s it. I’m going to bed. Hurrumph.

Sometimes if you click to “share” a link, it will include more than just the URL, it will turn it into a hyperlink with a text description instead.
Copy and pasting THIS from Tenor will post the image correctly:
https://tenor.com/bbsjo.gif
And then it shows up like this:
But if you copy or “share” the image/webpage/link in some other ways, it will try to paste like a hyperlink instead of a URL and will look like this:
[Friends Monica GIF - Friends Monica Geller - Discover & Share GIFs ](https://tenor.com/bbsjo.gif)
Which shows up like this:
Friends Monica GIF - Friends Monica Geller - Discover & Share GIFs
At least that is what Discourse is saying happened in this case.
Don’t shoot the messenger.
Sheesh.
You’re not supposed to go to bed mad.
I didn’t click share. I just copied and pasted the link.
I wasn’t mad. I was disappointed.
The GIF is correct, I know little about towel but I enjoy guessing.
Who are the most skeptical (top two)?
Translated to Woman Language = I was mad.
Skeptical about what?
I am analytical, and a data guy, which is not exactly the same thing. I am often skeptical when something seems baseless with no supporting evidence, or is an isolated case study, and someone is still proclaiming something as a fact or making generalizations or labels out of pure BS, then I try to be skeptical about confirmation bias, Dunning-Kruger effect, etc.
Healthy skepticism is a positive trait. Compulsive cynicism & chronic negativity is not. There is a difference and it’s often confused. Starting from a neutral position is ideal, which doesn’t necessarily mean doubting or believing which is a false dichotomy, but instead setting aside confirmation bias either direction and seeing if there is general supporting evidence for or against it.
Not saying I’m perfect at that, but I do generally try to realign myself back to that state.
Colloquially that might be perceived as pessimism in some circumstances and the opposite in others depending on the observer’s personal interest and own biases.
Poll complicator. I have a rationale for my vote. It may not be valid but I do have a rationale.
I like the tension/interplay between optimism and skepticism. I think that’s healthy.
Who voted for me?
I don’t know, but I’m winning , ‘least skeptical’!
(Neither carver nor I have a vote but the system knows he’s more skeptical than me and rated him higher!)
I give up posting GIFs. sigh
Sorry… couldn’t help myself.
I mean, I voted for myself… So…
Totally going to go vote for you now!
Ugh! You guys voting for me must be thinking of my friend, the French woman, who thinks this:
C’mon, stay focused!! Carver can’t be zero !
