Cloud Storage on 3rd party Storage Providers

Yes!!!

Cloud storage using a 3rd party provider.

Let us enter our api keys into wyze to send our footage forever into backblaze. its super cheap and comes with free storage. I use this for one way nas backups already and they are really reliable as a backup destination.

Im sure others would include aws or google cloud. Either would work for me but b2 cloud is cheaper and has 10gb free.

This would be a great feature, and while it is being considered, I’d like to throw NextCloud into the mix. Supporting a personal open cloud like NextCloud would be the ultimate feature.

Supporting nextcloud would be the ultimate way to support all at once haha.

Complete motion is a must…

You as owner should be able to select how long do you want to record free of charge.

You can charge for storage or even allow the user to store in drive or the storage service the user uses. But you should enable user to be able to record as long as the user wants.
Otherwise users like me will buy other cc cámaras.

Why don’t you allow the user to store in their own service like google drive or dropbox?

The cameras are good BUT are not safe or respond to any “security” needs of your customers. Most people expect to use them with a “security” purpose in mind BUT anyone can remove the SD cards or unplug the unit and leave with it and thus eliminate all recordings. If the cameras, which are connected to your network could copy the SD card recordings, ideally in real-time to a user’s cloud storage such as Google Drive then a true “security” element would exist and instantly double the value of the devices if not more. You could even charge a nominal either initial or subscription fee for the feature making it cost effective to Wyze as well as to the clients. I seriously think this would be the best investment Wyze make. It would be very little programming and you could leverage the “home integration” with Google home and Amazon Alexa to connect securely to the cloud storage and would be the most valuable feature your product would have to offer

@Durand Welcome to the community! Just in case you’re not aware of this, here is an alternative that you may be interested in. If your camera is ever stolen, your videos will be stored in the cloud. The recordings are stored in the cloud for 14 days. Complete Motion Capture costs $1.49 a month per camera. Full details below: :slightly_smiling_face:

But do not implement this by insisting on cart blanche access to (e.g.) Google Drive. Not sure about Dropbox, but all the others provide fine-grained access controls. Upload only, please. I’ll manage my own data once it’s uploaded, thanks.

Complete Motion Capture is not a good enough option. I need to be able to set how long it will save my recordings. I recommend Backblaze B2.

I’d specifically like to see options for all types of storage, including personal NAS devices like WD MYCLOUD,

Same, still waiting on this feature. Seems like it should be a snap using ssh on your local network to dump to the NAS. We’ve been requesting this feature for a long while. Personally i don’t care for the RTSP feature for extended use, its still “unfinished”. While its beneficial, there is no way to control the bit rate, so its imperative to keep your multiple RTSP cameras streaming on a separate router to not stress your normal use wifi router.

Add dropbox integration

@gbanay Before we move this to the #wishlist, could you please explain further what you envision for Dropbox integration? One reason I ask is that you can already integrate with Dropbox indirectly. For example, if you have Dropbox set up on your phone, you can use the Share button on an event video to share the video to your Dropbox. Are you looking for something beyond that?

Beyond that, I personally would like to have it automatically save event videos, and manual photos/videos, to Dropbox, and not have to do the manual step of clicking Share and saving it to Dropbox.

Hi - Hope all is well. Is there an update on this? I am constantly increasing the amount of cameras I have including the outdoor camera and the doorbell camera coming out in December. I really don’t want to share every video to Dropbox manually from every camera (I currently have 5). I’d like to have a repository of the video footage whenever I need. Looking forward to an update and hope you guys are safe out there!

Linking a dropbox to automatically sync data would be great. This way I dont have to constantly take the sd card in and out

Still waiting for this…it’s more important to me now as I have more Wyze products in the fold. Any hope for a tentative ETA?

One of the thread tags above is “maybe later”. In the How to use the Wishlist, the maybe later is noted to mean:

You can manually set your notification level of this thread to be “watching” to be notified of any future changes, but since you replied, it should be automatically set to “watching”. You’ll then get a notification when ever the original post is edited, and any future replies.
