I have 11 cameras set up on my Wyze account app. 5 cameras are located in my apartment and 6 in my house. Both locations are in different cities using different internet connections, The 5 cameras in my apartment were set up to record to cloud a while ago and work fine. No cool down period and event clips are able to be much longer than 12 seconds. The 6 cameras in my house however were recently installed and set up for cloud recording. I have triple checked that all settings and firmware are the same across all 11 cameras. I’ve power cycled and factory reset the 6 that don’t work several times. This is really getting to me since I have many contractors working around my house and can’t record much. Support has also been unhelpful. I don’t think I’m missing anything and I’m convinced the issue is most likely in the Wyze server infrastructure.
Are the 5 in your apartment set up on Complete Motion Capture, that is the only thing that would eliminate the cool down on the event videos. The SDcard will record longer than 12 seconds but that shows under view playback and not Events.

There are three kinds of recording available in the Wyze app:
- Cloud motion/sound event: These are enabled in the camera settings (gear icon) > Event Recording. Also make sure that the Detection Zone under Detection Settings is not missing the area of motion. These are played back in the Events tab. (With the addition of a CMC subscription to a camera, cloud motion events for that camera will lack the 5-minute cooldown period, and will be the entire length of the movement detected by the camera)
- microSD card recording: This is enabled in Advanced Settings > Local Storage and can be set to continuous or event only recording. This is played back by pressing the View Playback button on the live stream. This is completely independent from #1.
- Record button on live stream or playback: This saves to your phone’s camera roll or gallery, in real time, whatever is being played in the live stream or view playback. Note that it isn’t available when playing cloud events. It is viewed by tapping More and then the Album button, or by leaving the Wyze app and viewing the Wyze album in your phone’s photos or gallery app. This type of recording ceases when you leave the Wyze app.
More info on setting these up can be found in the Support Site.
