Charge and Battery Indicator Duo Cam

So I’ve just finished adding a ZWave dry contact relay into the circuit for the doorbell transformer. This one gives me the ability to actually let the DuoCam excercise the battery some, so it’s not at 100% all the time, and I can turn off the door bell chime entirely when I want easily.

However while checking and wiring this up, I noticed the indicator in the app for whether the camera is running on battery, or plugged in, doesn’t really respond. It seems to either have a huge delay, or only polls for this information every couple minutes? During my install I gave up and pulled the doorbell, and just looked at the charging light on the battery, which does respond instantly.

Anyone else noticed this? Or was just information just figured not important so it doesn’t report as needed?

The Duo runs only on battery. It’s not connected to the transformer wires. The transformer wires only charge the battery.

Yeah I’m aware of that, it’s kind of a design flaw. However, I was more concerned with that the indicator in the app does not actually respond to what is actually happening (charging or running off battery). It does seem to eventually, but it takes quite a bit of time. Multiple minutes in some cases.

The charging status is only updated after a few minutes. This is normal/typical behavior for any Wyze battery powered device. Sometimes I have to go view a camera to see an update to the charging status. No need to be concerned.
