Cat trying out for the Olympics

Very effective.

I’m actually really tempted, now that Wyze is experimenting with RTSP, to have a camera in front That is analyzed by an llm to see when certain dogs squat down in my yard to then triggered turn on sprinklers

I don’t mind if somebody’s animal needs to go to the bathroom, but there are some people who never clean it up, and I want to turn on sprinklers to stop it from now on. Maybe I’ll just train it to turn on sprinklers anytime. Those people are that pet is in view and not just wait for the dog to squat.

I love dogs, and had them growing up, but I don’t have one now because I don’t want all the maintenance. And I definitely don’t want to be doing maintenance for somebody else’s dog. Nowadays, I just visit and play with and hang out with other people’s dogs without having to get my own. It’s kind of like how grandparents love having grandkids because they don’t have to deal with all of the downsides and can just pass them back on to the parents. :joy:

First, if you do this, I expect to see examples captured by your Cam Floodlight Pros.

Second, you’ve described one of the great advantages of being an uncle.

Yes, I need to work out the liability protection first though. In theory if you intentionally turn on sprinklers and someone runs into the road and gets hit by a car, you can be held liable. So I may need to do something like point a cam or an OG Telefoto to watch further down the sidewalk and identify them before they get on my property, then turn on the sprinklers before they get here, then make sure the sprinklers don’t overlap the sidewalk (a couple do a little bit, currently), etc. Or choose sprinklers that are close, but don’t actually quite reach the edge of the lawn. IDK, I’ll work out the legal and safety protections first.

It’s a low priority project far down the list, but is definitely on the list.
