Can’t Send Videos on iPhone

Using a V3 with an iPhone15.

I’m able to save video and events on my phone but cannot send those videos once saved on my device to anyone via Messenger, iMessage or SMS.

Is anyone else having this problem?

File sizes can be an issue. Everything has a file size limit. Messenger is 25 MB, but that should be fine for seconds-long clips. SMS isn’t really intended for videos at all. Even MMS can only do very small ones (300kB?) A 12-second clip is typically 1-1.5 MB in size.

iMessage should work great as long as you are sending to another iPhone. If not, it will depend on the capabilities of who you are talking to. For instance, if you are talking to a Google Message user, they now have RCS, which can do 100MB. But if it is a Samsung Message user, maybe 2-5 MB?

It’s terrible that you need to know so much to send a simple clip via text! Hopefully everything will become more capable in the future. In the meantime there are file-sharing services like SendAnywhere where you can send 10GB at a time!

Thanks for your feedback.

These clips are small. 12-14 seconds in length. It only started recently before any iPhone updates or Wyze ones.

Before that, I would send these clips daily.

Is there a problem with how these videos are being saved?

I just sent a small clip to myself via iMessage, it worked. What error indications are you getting?

Just says Not Delivered.

Sending downloaded Wyze video clips via iMessage is not working for me anymore either.

I also can’t export edited clips using InShot video editor anymore, fails to export every time. No problem editing any other video, including Ring.

Wyze has done something that is causing issues.

I just sent myself a 39 second WYZE video clip I saved to my iPhone yesterday to myself via iMessage and it worked. But today I can not download any videos from the cloud, it shows downloading, the green bar gets to the end but the video is never saved as usual? My 2.4 network is 100 down/20 up, the 5.0 network is 564 down/23 up so it’s not the wifi.

Edit I got the downloads to work again. Logged out and in of the iOS app, restarted the phone and downloads are back again.

I’m having the same problem on all v3, v4 and the door bell pro can download or share Restart cameras , clear cache log out ant then reboot phone. Log back in and still can’t download anything

My downloads are still working today. One other thing I did was change access for photos to all then back to limited before I restarted the phone… I don’t know if that made any difference though.

Having the exact same issue. Just got 2 v4s and a pan cam v3 and anytime I try to send a video from Wyze it borks my phone entirely. I spent 3 hours on the phone with ATT and then Apple support trying to figure out what was going on, and it was only in googling it this afternoon that I found it was an issue with Wyze. I love the cameras so far, but this is kinda crazy. A bug so bad that it forced me to reset my phone to a previous backup in order to send messages? Might be something they want to figure out.

Did you download the videos from the WYZE Cloud events or did you use the share method from the app? I sent myself four videos this morning, I downloaded two and used the share function for two. All of them were sent and received, Two were from V4 cams and two were from V3 cams. Using iOS app and iOS 18.2. I don’t like the share function because that put a WYZE black screen banner at the end of the video that says "Captured by WYZE V4 or V3 or what ever cam you are using.

Sending Wyze downloaded V4 camera videos is still not working, V2 camera downloads send and receive no problem.

As pictured, I sent an 11 second video at 2:54pm via iMessage, where it freezed the iMessage string and would not send. The only way to unfreeze the iMessage string requires a hard restart of my iPhone.

I just sent myself a 7.3MB (25 second) video from a V4 to myself via share> iMessage. I have no idea what is going on.

I suspect that the app’s share function (and whatever Wyze is doing to items shared with this method) might be at least part of the culprit here. Just yesterday I used the  Take Photo feature to capture a still from a Cam v4 and then used the  Share feature to share the photo to Discord. Instead of displaying the image in the chat, Discord shows the filename ([13 digits].jpeg) as a link to a regular non-image file. I can click it to download it, but then the default name I’m prompted to save it with is just jpg, which is weird.

This behavior is the same whether I’m using Discord on Windows or Linux.

I wonder if Wyze got “too cute” when they added that extra “Captured by” stuff to the share feature for videos and hosed something else in the process. This might make a good fix-it-friday submission whenever those resume.

Just chiming in that this problem just started for me - same thing. 25 second video that appears fine but won’t export in iMovie, breaks iMessage for all attachments until a manual phone power cycle… ayup. iPhone 15 Pro Max here.
