CamV4 missing events during the spotlight cooldown

I’ve noticed several times that during the moring. I walk out of the garage to my car, the spotlight comes on. I’m filmed going to my car. the recording stops. I notice that the spotlight is on. I back out of my driveway and that footage is completely missed. It has happened several times and always seems to happen when the spotlight is still on.

Do you have Cam Plus or Cam Ultimate?

I’ve noticed on my V4 whenever the spotlight is on the background is quite dark so it’s hard for the camera to register anything beyond certain distance. I am guessing when you back out of your driveway the camera stops registering motion and stops recording. Turn the spotlight off and try to recreate the even and see what happens.

If you don’t subscribe to cam plus or cam unlimited, you are limited to 1 event every 5 minutes. If you have an SD card, the motion will still be recorded to that, but it will not be tagged as an event and will not send a notification.

If you don’t have an SD card, you won’t even get a still picture within that 5 minute timer.

I have cam unlimited.

How do you disable the spotlight? Can’t find an option to just turn it off.

Tap once on the screen to invoke hidden icons than tap on the spotlight icon on the left for either on or off.

Doesn’t that just turn it on/off for the livestream?

On my OG you just hit the gear icon in the top right when viewing live stream, then there is a “spotlight” section there. Change it to “manual” or uncheck the two boxes for motion and sound. I’m assuming it is something similar for the v4.

Don’t know why that would be affecting anything related to recording motion event though.

I thought that’s what you were asking. Follow @dave27 's instructions, same as V4.

My V4 Spotlight is off and will stay off. Just set it to manual.

Yes, but note Schedule below. It’s stuck on Sunset-Sunrise. Doesn’t that mean that the light will remain on all night?

I have a V4 on manual spotlight setting. The spotlight never turns on, even when there’s sunset-sunrise schedule.

OK. Cool. I was just confused by that.

If you set it to Auto, and sunset-sunrise it will only come on for the events you choose and for as long as the time you set in the settings.

As @Antonius explained above, I have mine on Auto and set dusk to dawn and to turn off after 3 minutes. Works as advertised.

Setting:

My settings exactly mirrored your settings. I would frequently miss additional events while the spotlight remained on during the 30 seconds. Now that I have my light set to “off” I’ll verify that I’m not missing events. Then I’ll try with the settings re-engaged to see if the issue returns.

I put the setting there just as an example, I don’t like the spotlight and don’t use it on either of my V4 cams because I have enough ambient light.
I have tried it out for a few days on the sunset-sunrise schedule and it did work when I set it for smart detections> Person/Pet.

Same here as it makes the background dark. I have it on, on mine because the way it is mounted lets anyone walking up the stairs know that they are being watched.
