Cameras Repeatedly Offline

Sounds like something in your router may be freezing up. My lease time is 30 days (so they renew their IP every 15 days, or at least they would if I didn’t have a weekly reboot automation that makes them renew every 7) and no issues with that. The only way the camera would lose its IP is if it tried to renew and did not get a response, and even then it will usually hang onto it until the full lease expires.

Shortening the lease time may be keeping the router DHCP from freezing up or masking some other issue, but lease length itself isn’t a problem.

@Sam_Bam - Over 4 yrs with Wyze and over 30 cams and have had only 1 power adapter failure. Except for doorbells, my cams do get automation turn-offs for a few hours after midnight and before dawn every night (early morning). Not sure Wyze would have its success if power adapters had to be replaced as you and some others did. That’s almost as bad as supplying cams with defects since the power adapter is integral to the operation of the cams. As far as I am concerned, Wyze power adapters are solid. Maybe a bad production batch around the time you were purchasing cams?

No, it’s a common router provided by an ISP (Australia). Have seen the same exact issue on multiple other routers from that ISP (Technicolor DJA0231). Also, have seen people reporting the same issue from multiple Countries and with different routers. Something changed on the Wyze side for V3 pro and V4 (may have been a year ago). Before that, no such issues. Same router, same cameras. Not sure if firmware related, or other. Very strange.

I have a v4, has been online nonstop for about 3 weeks now, other than the weekly reboot. Same for my other cams (18 months without any regular issues, even before I started the weekly reboots). ISP routers are notoriously bad typically, and when a router starts to go, the DHCP server is typically the first thing you notice locking up. Generally heat over time causes solder joints to start cracking.
