Camera won't recognise SD Card

New to group but had to share this. Have many old sd/tf cards laying around and was gifted a wyze cam v2. Stuggled two weeks trying to get the cards to show up on device. It is now very simple when formatting to fat32 make sure the label is “EFI” and format as soon as you plug it into the device. I hope this Helps.

many thanks

I bought 6, 32GB “Sandisk” mSD cards from Amazon. They looked legitimate, but only 5 of the 6 worked and were recognized in the Wyze Cams. I filed a warranty claim with Sandisk, and they said the card was not theirs and would not qualify for a warranty claim. I threw it in the trash and used another one of the cards.

It looked legitimate, but wasn’t worth the dealing with Sandisk on it. As I bought 3, multipacks of two cards, I couldn’t return to Amazon. They made it right by giving me the value of the card as a credit, but still a bummer.

Worked for me as well. Thank you very much, firefox. I have a Samsung SD card but this utility by Sandisk work on it as a charm. Thanks again. I was getting very frustrated. Wyze needs to be a bit more responsive towards the complaints.

Me too. Samsung Class 10 32GB card formatted to Fat32 out of the package didn’t work. Fully formatted with the Sandisk program is recognized now.

Worked for me

Hi all Wyze give me a 50.00 Amazon card for
Hacking all your problems!
For SD card to work and play back

  1. Format SD card after installing into camera
  2. No HD recording only SD recording
  3. SD card records up to 29gigs that is it, it doesn’t
Start to copy over old files!
  4. SD card stops recording at the 29 gigs the only
Way to get it to record again is to reformat it.
  5. Before you reformat it down load all files

I think I misunderstand…we’re aware some large cards like 256GB cards are only recording up to 29GB right now (it is a known bug)…but are you saying someone at Wyze Support gave you $50 for telling you figured out you can just format your own card every time it fills up 29GB of recordings?

That does not make much sense. I would think the rep should’ve just said, “We’re aware there is a bug related to SD cards over 128GB right now to where it won’t use the full storage. In the meantime, smaller cards are working fine, and we apologize for any inconvenience while our developers are trying to fix this known bug with the larger SD cards.”

That is cool that they were so nice to give you a gift card though. I'm glad you had a good experience. :+1:

EDIT: OK, I did misunderstand (ie: Post was requesting/suggesting a $50 card, not saying one was received)

No nothing at all lol.
They just killing off there customers because
There customer support just reads off scripts!
Just putting it out to help the Wyze Peeps.
You would think it would start to record over
Old files at the 29gig mark but no. Dose anyone
Overseas know this no because I had to figure
It out on my own.

This solution woked for me. Thanks!
