I have two of the bulb cams and I’m happy with the quality of those. They did stop recording events, but I’m sure that’s because I don’t have an SD card installed right now. Do I have to have a plan with those or will an SD card record events to where I can go review events later? I’ve seen some people say I have to have a plan with those as well along with an SD card. I need to install a third camera that will have to be solar powered and a bit closer to where I need to have a view. Is there a solar powered camera that has a decent zoom that would work? I bought one of the cameras that goes in the window, but the angle is just too wide to get a good picture of what I need a picture of. I will probably buy a plan for that one unless I can get away with an SD card.
You don’t need subscription to have events and continuous recording on SD card. As for the other question, none of Wyze cameras have zoom capabilities.
All the cams support digital zoom but obviously that reduces quality. The only camera with an optical zoom is the “OG Telephoto” which has a fixed 3x zoom.
As @habib mentioned, no plan needed, SD card can be used in either “events only” or “continuous” recording modes. Just note that without an active subscription, it will record everything in either mode, but it will only log an event and notify you at most once every 5 minutes. Well technically twice, once for motion and once for sound, if you have both enabled.
