I have 2 Pan v3 cameras in operation outdoors. The one on the north side of the building stopped its pan scan operation after a large wind storm with straight line winds. The one on the south side of the building (blocked from the high winds) operates still normally.
The problem camera is still viewable on the app as normal and I can move the controls up and down. However, when I try to move the camera left or right, nothing changes and then eventually I see the message “you have reached the end”.
If the camera sees motion, it will move left or right, up or down to track it. But the camera is just stuck where it stops and it will not pan to each of my 4 way points anymore?
Has anyone experienced this? This camera is also on the paid Cam Plus subscription.
Well if it tracks left to right and up & down obviously the motor and gears seem to be good.
Sounds like a software/firmware bug?
Have you tried clearing the cache on the app?
Have you tried a power cycle on camera?
This may sound weird but check the SD too,
I have had a V3 not be able to connect to WiFi due to a SD card corruption before and once the SD was formatted in a pc and reinstalled the camera WiFi connected. Odd and Rare issue but you never know, so it wouldn’t hurt to check.
Lastly maybe delete camera from app and reset camera then re-setup in app…
What kind of resets have you attempted with the problem camera? I’m thinking of these:
Settings ➜ Advanced Settings ➜ Motor Controls ➜ Reset Position ➜ Reset
Settings ➜ Reset Services ➜ Reset
Settings ➜ Restart Camera ➜ Restart
I haven’t experienced what you’re describing, and when I began reading your post I thought maybe the pan movement was ruined, but if you’re saying that the camera still pans when you have Track Motion enabled then it seems like that’s intact, so I’d be inclined to try some resets.
