After taking some photos of the lawn crew caring for my lawn, I went back to a cam that worked just seconds before, then iy gave me an error message.
Never seen this before. The problem only happened on my v3 cameras. I have always considered the v3s to be stable. The v4, OG and v2s did not have an issue.
The v3s would report “camera not connected” when I attempted to take a photo. This happened on all of my v3 cams. I restarted services on each v3 and all was back to normal.
I usually don’t see issueswith my Wyze cams and found it interesting.
When the 3.x app first came out, having all the live streams loading on the home screen would cause some sort of glitch with my Panv3s where they would then not be able to load the live stream reliably when going into that camera. Exiting and re-opening the app fixed that. The Panv3s also never correctly even showed the live stream on the favorites page, it was just a still frame that updated every 5 seconds or so. Once they gave the option to shut off auto play on the favorites, I haven’t had that issue again.
The “monitoring” tab ever since 2.5 has never worked reliably for me, the cams will all load the first time, but if I go into a cam then back to that screen, some would inevitably be black or say they can’t connect. In that case it only affects that screen, individual cameras and cam group view still work fine. Again exiting and reopening the app fixes it, I can then view the monitoring tab once, then it does the same thing the second time I try to view it.
In both cases a simple close and reopen of the app (no force stop or anything) fixes it. I suspect that if the app is attempting to start up new connections too frequently and existing connections haven’t fully closed out, things get confused (excess TCP or UDP connections) and need to be cleared out.
Not on the main Live Stream screen, but I noticed recently if I tap into the Time Lapse screen (like I’m going to set one up), then that shows the bit rate beside the resolution.
