Agree, that pop up is new for me too. It’s as if Wyze intended to break the 180 function with that disclaimer. It was working and detecting fine all year for me too so no reason to “fix” what’s not broken.
That pop up was actually the original mounting standard. When they first came out you could not flip the image. There were magnets on top and bottom and meant to always be right side up. After mane people showing use case scenario for having them upside down they added in the rotate option. I am not exactly sure why that started popping up again but it has been there hiding in the app for ages.
We are currently looking into the issue right now.
That is actually incorrect. I have had my camera since 2020. 2 were pre order. They have always been able to flip tbe image. You sir are wrong.
If you would like screen shots of how long I have had them I will gladly provide them.
You made me do some digging, but I stand corrected, it did come out with the 180 flip at launch. I also have 2 from preorder and I could have sworn that happened after. I do know the image was used in earlier apps though, but only when drilling down into a few screens.
I actually found what I was remembering, they were going to remove it and due to the upset users and use cases they didn’t, but that is when the image was created. Here is the thread for when they were going to remove it.
I totally get that. I don’t come here often unless I have a true problem I cant fix. My cameras have always been mounted that way. From day one and I never have had a problem. Like I said I flipped them to the top magnet. But still have to put it 180 for it to be up right. All around weird issue.
It really is, and inconvenient. I am hoping for a fix soon.
Hey wanted to show this clip look at how the camera flips on its own.
Both front cameras are doing it.
That is event recording. When I go live they don’t flip around like that. They are oriented correctly. I don’t have any events on the gate cam so I can’t show it. I still think it os in the AI.
Yep, we did notice that also on the event videos. We are hoping to have a fix for this soon.
I have five of the outdoor, battery operated cams. Two of them are hooked to a power source via the usb port. These don’t fail.
The other three on battery only, if I stream data from them, the next time I stream data or have an event stored, it will be upside down. I set it to rotate 180, and it’s good till I stream data from them again.
Started after the update 3-4 days ago about dec 8th, 2022 …pvp
I updated both at the same time.

I was looking through my clips from today and it looks like it has gotten worse.
It has been seven days since the breaking software update (on 12/7/22). My outdoor cams are showing upside down because the ‘Rotate Image 180°’ setting is no longer persisted.
When will the fix be rolled out?
Thank you.
I still have the same problem on my Outdoor battery camera’s. They worked fine for a long time before this update.
My other wyze camera’s, V3 and Pan cam are working ok.
A lot of software and storage related issues lately, glad I didn’t buy a wyze router…!
Is WYZE able to revert to previous firmware before this image flip and reverse issue on 12/08/22? They are offering updates for my indoor cams and NOT going to do it in case something similar happens.
Beta fixed, all is well!
Good, when can we get the update…??
