Cam V4 Pro coming soon...?

So. If the Cam V3 Pro comes with the capability to detect people with it’s own hardware versus having to pay a monthly fee for an AI in the cloud to detect people…

The V3 Pro basically shows that Wyze is capable of just doing right by it’s community and incorporating this “on device human detection” into any camera that is released thereafter… cuz if not… it starts to feel like a cash-grab by forcing a monthly fee to detect people when there is living proof that this is completely unnecessary…

Then the Cam V4 comes out… and it relies on a monthly fee in order to detect people… :eyes::expressionless::sweat_smile::face_with_monocle::person_shrugging::thinking::laughing: Well… what’s already done is done and there’s likely nothing that can be done at this point… however…

There IS an opportunity to perhaps ensure that the Cam V4 Pro model will include this “on-device people detection without a monthly fee” feature. Maybe even going above and beyond by also having a huge ad campaign plus a new trade-up program because “this camera will usher in a new era for the Wyze community by including this ‘on-device people detection for free’ feature that will carry on in all future camera releases.”

I know there’s going to be pushback on this idea, because capitalism, however… I believe this is a huge opportunity for Wyze to prove that it’s not just another typical for-profit corporation doing everything that it can to squeeze as much money from it’s customers as possible. That the Wyze executives are willing to look through the scope of the customer lens, and prove that Wyze is still that scrappy upstart from Seattle that CAN put customers before profits… personally I think this could be huge… and again, just the right thing to do.

So… do ya think the Cam V4 Pro have this feature… ?? :eyes::crossed_fingers::laughing::crossed_fingers::sweat_smile:

Welcome to the Forum, @Jediahcorn!

You mean the feature that Cam v4 was already supposed to have?

I’d posit that there should be acceptance of this idea for exactly the same reason. Other companies are already offering this (I’ve commented several places on the Forum about my own positive experiences with Tapo C120 and its on-board “smart” detections that don’t require a subscription), so this seems like a decision Wyze should seriously consider (since they pretty much blew it with Cam v4 and then apparently did a bunch of post-release clean-up) in order to remain competitive in the name of capitalism.

Like you, I’ll…

Count me out. Didn’t buy a v3 pro. So no v4 pro. V3 suits my minimal needs.
