Hi, I’m writing to see if there are any ideas why my Cam V3 suddenly stopped working. The last recording was Feb 5 at 02:53:01, with every minute of the 02 hour continuously recorded up to that moment. Now it doesn’t even power up. It was perched up under the eave of the front porch, well protected from the weather and there is no chewing of the wires or anything critter-related. It is at least a couple years old but I have older ones that are fine. The power cable works fine when tested on other cams, so something inside this one took a dive. Do these cams just die on their own?
Most electronics die on their own, some sooner than later. However, have you tried plugging a different power supply and cable?
Thanks - yes, I did try other cables but to no avail. Should have included that in my description.
I read the bit even in the original description about the power cable for this camera working with other cameras, but what I haven’t yet seen—as @habib suggested—is a trial of a known good power supply with the problematic camera. Maybe @GinEC has already done that, but it’s something I’d explicitly try.
Huh #headscratcher. Was it showing as “ON” in the app? Or, perhaps you hadn’t checked the app in 17 days.
Finally, I presume that you pulled the microSD card out, and, put it in a computer. Did you have CAM+?
There really should be some sorta malfunction notification, much like when Wyze Sense detects that yer network got rebooted, etcetera. I’m sure there are many people who find out there is a cam problem, only when looking for some important video
